Leeds is located in right in the middle of some of the best hunting in the upper midwest.  Opportunities to hunt waterfowl abound due to the many wetlands in the area.  The grassland areas provide excellent habitat for upland game.  Whitetail deer thrive in the region.  Other hunting includes moose, turkeys, and coyotes.  There are many acres of public access near Leeds so finding open land is not a problem.

Leeds is also located a short 15 miles from the western shores of Devils Lake, which is a world renowned fishery known for excellent walleye fishing in the summer and jumbo perch in the winter.  Other species such as northern pike and white bass provide exciting action as well.  Other area fishing and recreation lakes a short drive from Leeds include Lake Irvine, Silver Lake, Bisbee Dam, Sand Lake, and Buffalo Lake.
