The Nestegard Memorial Swimming Pool is located on the east side of Leeds and is operated by the Leeds Park Board. This is a full service pool with diving boards, slide, and baby pool. Swimming lessons are held each summer. A picnic shelter and playground equipment are also located at the pool. Outdoor basketball courts are nearby as well as a skating rink during the winter months.
The current pool was built in 1980 and was in need of major renovations in 2009. A community wide fundraising effort raised $54,000 in a short amount of time to make the needed repairs. Volunteers completed the entire project in just over a month and the pool opened on time for that summer.
In recent years, the park board has raised money to replace the chemical system, the electrical system, the filter system, install a new slide, and install a new high dive with support from the community and other organizations.
